The model and actress Mallika Sherawat has asked for – and been given – three crores and fifty lakhs for a single ad: the highest fee apparently paid so far to a model in Indian advertising. Earlier, for the film Aap Ka Suroor, Mallika had asked for 1 and half crorers just for a few scenes. The present ad in question isfor a new CD company. When asked about this rather high figure, Mallika said that such a sum for an actor at the peak of her career was not unusual. What will be tougher, she added, is staying on top and commanding such prices in the future.
