Will Trisha say yes to Bharath?

Karu Palaniappan would wear his director’s mantle - after the widely acclaimed Pirivom Sandhippom - for the Tamil remake version of Jab We Met. Palani has carved a niche in the industry in less than three movies with his neat scripts and uncomplicated direction. For the same reason, it comes as a surprise to many that Palani has opted to direct a remake movie.

As informed by us earlier, Bharath will play the lead in this Moserbaer production. Since Tamanna is reportedly busy and could not allot slots for the movie, the producers are going back to prod Trisha for her dates, who incidentally had pulled out from the venture earlier.

Shahrukh surprised by Kuselan

Shahrukh was busy with various endeavors that he did not notice Kuselan
getting wrapped up in double quick time. As you might be aware, Shahrukh Khan
is producing and acting in the Hindi version of Kuselan being directed
by Priyadarshan. The movie is titled Billoo Barber. Shahrukh has planned
for his film to be a full fledged Diwali release and seemed to be under t
he impression that even Kuselan would take that long in the making.

But when the news of the imminent release of Kuselan reached him,
he was a bit taken aback. The news that producers of Kuselan planned
to dub the movie into Hindi and give it a grand release seems to
have unnerved Shahrukh a bit. Understandably, he didn’t want a movie
carrying the same story as his production and having Superstar in it
to release before his movie. Shahrukh supposedly called up Superstar
to avert any such possibility.

Robot: Filming begins on August 12

The costliest film ever in India – Robot – will begin filming (tentatively)
on 12.08.08 in U.S.A.

Rajinikanth and Shankar, who worked magic in Sivaji, team up again in Robot.
The film’s leading lady is Aishwarya Rai – the heartthrob of millions across the world.
The film promises never-seen-before special effects.

Shankar showed a much younger Rajinikanth to the audience in Sivaji and he has
promised to better that attempt in Robot.

Meanwhile, Rajni's Kuselan is getting ready for its release on August 1st,
with a bang. The fame of this film has touched every nook and corner of Asia and America.
In Japan, where Rajni is an icon, Kuselan will be screened at the Tokyo International
Film Festival. In America, the release of Kuselan is being
celebrated with huge cut-outs and launch of MnMs printed with Rajni’s image.
On frontline news channels in India, Rajinikanth and Kuselan are regulars flash
news and
primetime news shows.

Nayanthra flags off Rajinikanth

In continuation of the ongoing BIG Kuselan Kondattam celebration, BIG 92.7 FM,
in association with BIG Music, today (Chennai, July 28, 2008): launched the mobile
photo exhibition of Superstar Rajinikanth. The photo exhibition was flagged off
by Nayantara.

The photo exhibition contains pictures of Rajinikanth.
The bus will go across various parts of Chennai, giving fans a chance to
view some rare pictures of the Superstar.

Speaking about the Mobile photo exhibition, P.B Ramaswamy, Cluster Director,
BIG 92.7 FM TamilNadu, said “vibe of the city currently is Kuselan, and we at
BIG 92.7 FM would like to make our on-air and on-ground offering highly

is just another Life Kondadalam offering from BIG 92.7 FM”

Kuselan beats the final hurdle!

Screening of Kuselan, the Rajinikanth starrer ran into rough weather
in Karnataka with Kannada Rakshana Vedike issuing a ban on its release.
This follows the Hogenakkal row where Rajinikanth spoke in favor of
Tamilians a few months back. This had apparently irked some sections
of people in Karnataka who had demanded an apology from the superstar.
However Rajini stood by his stance and did not offer an apology.
Following this some groups had said that they would not screen Rajini’s
films in Karnataka any more.

When Kuselan is ready for release now, people were skeptical about
its screening in Karnataka. However with the intervention of Karnataka Film Chamber,
the issue has been resolved amicably and the chamber has given an order stating
that Kuselan will be screened in 13 theatres with ten prints in Bengaluru alone.

Meanwhile, the president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce,
actress Jayamala said that Rajinikanth had sent a hand-written letter
explaining that he had no intention of hurting the sentiments of Kannadigas.
He reiterated in his letter that people other than Tamilians also enjoy his films.

Sachin Tendulkar’s Bollywood debut

Yes, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will soon be seen in a Hindi movie.
The movie is titled ‘Vighnahartha Shree Sidhivinayak’, which, as the
title suggests, will be a devotional film with Lord Vinayaka as the central
character. Sachin will be playing himself in either a short talkie portion
or a song of the movie. His portion is planned to be shot after the Indian
team returns from its tour of Sri Lanka in August. Sachin, who has always been
known to be a devotee of Lord Vinayaka will not charge any fee for acting in the
movie.

Sachin’s Bollywood debut follows the news of Test captain Anil Kumble playing
himself in a Hindi movie which will have Mandira Bedi doing a key role.
