Corporation stalls Kamal’s event

The Tanjavur Corporation stalled the Sivaji statue inauguration near the Manimandapam in the city, scheduled to be held on August 15th. The statue was to be installed by Kamal Haasan on the Independence Day and invites have already been distributed before the Corporation raised objection over the location issue. Corporation officials claim that
Sivaji Statue permission was granted to install the statue inside the Manimandapam, however, now the organizers are planning to install it in the main junction

Spokesperson of the Organizers stated that expenses to the tune of Rs. 1.25 lakhs have been incurred toward obtaining permission from the corporation. It is also learnt that the event organizers are planning to take it up with the Chief Minister. .
