Hot Nayanthara's unforgettable clicks

Shahrukh follows Rajini wherever he goes!

Though the news that Shahrukh Khan has bagged the lead role in the Hindi version Kuselan has now become stale, it is interesting to note that the actor will be shooting in those locations that Rajini had been filming his scenes. Titled Billu Bar Bar, this film is intended to be shot in Pollachi and Karaikal, which incidentally are the same locations chosen by the Kuselan crew.

While Shahrukh plays Rajini’s role, Irfan Khan has been signed up for Pasupathy’s character. Priyadarshan is donning the director’s cap. According to inside sources, cameraman Manikandan, who had worked with the King Khan in Om Shanti Om will wield the camera for this venture too.

Rajini’s 20 avatars!

Rajini in twenty different getups! No, the Superstar is not competing with his counterpart and good friend Kamal Haasan. While Kamal is donning ten roles in Dasavatharam, Rajini, currently working with director P. Vasu for Kuselan, will appear in about twenty getups in a song.

The star had already tried this in his film Baasha for the song Azhagu… Nee Nadanthal…where he appears as a police constable, rowdy, bus conductor etc. But twenty different getups are really astounding. Now, isn't that yet another reason to watch Kuselan?

Trisha is a busy bee

Following the success of ‘Kuruvi’, Trisha is beaming with joy. Though the movie has managed a mixed review, she is thrilled that it has managed good opening at the box office.

She is currently shooting for a couple of Telugu movies ‘Bujjigadu’ with Prabhas and ‘King’ opposite Nagarjuna. Also she is ready to commence shooting for Tamil venture ‘Sarvam’ with Arya directed by Vishnuvardhan.

Trisha is happy that 2008 is going in the right direction. 'Big offers come my way and I am respected and given plump roles'.

Ayyan

Two decades ago, films based entirely in rural areas and on rural subjects were in abundance. Of course, the protagonist invariably came to the big bad city of Chennai and the film continued... Recently, we had Paruthiveeran, Sandakkozhi, and Veyyil. Other than these, there has been a dearth of movies based on rural subjects, especially movies like Karagattakkaran, Devar Magan, Kizhakku Seemayilae. But there are production houses and people who do not let this trend die.

Now, the collaboration of Varsha Pictures and S.L. Pictures presents you a venture which has such rustic appeal in it. They are producing Ayyan, which has a rural backdrop and is rich in rural sentiments. Karthik, of Maanadurai fame is the hero, donning the role of a fearless man named Muniasaamy. Divyapadmini is the debut heroine. Supporting them are an eminent bunch of supporting artists including Pithamagan Mahadevan, Shanmugarajan, Singamuth, Ilavarasu, Suryakanth, Crane Manohar, Scissor Manohar, Muthukkalai, “Alwa” Vasu, "Supergood" Laxman, Soundar, Subburaj, Vijay Ganesh, Nellai Siva, and Bonda Mani. But it has not yet been decided who will be the chief comedian. All the big names in the field of comedy are under consideration.

Story, screenplay, and dialogues are by Kendran Muniasamy, who also directs this movie. Kavignar Snegan has penned the lyrics for all the songs. Kasi V. Nathan takes care of the camera. Deena of “Katthazha kannala kuthatha” fame is the choreographer. Super Subbarayan is the stunt coordinator.
When it comes to rustic subjects, no one can handle music better than the great Ilayaraja. So he has been roped in for music. Recently, a song was recorded at Prasad Studios for this movie. After the song was recorded, Ilayaraja received a standing ovation from all the music artists. They said that it had been quite a while since they listened to or worked in such engrossing music. This movie promises to be a feast for those who love movies based on rural subjects.

Rajni, Nayan, and Egyptian pyramids

The song that features Rajinikanth and Nayantara in Kuselan has generated a lot of curiosity. Everyone wants to know about this song. They are not ready to wait until July 18, the release date of the movie in Tamil and Telugu.

The song involving Rajinikanth and Nayantara in Kuselan has been shot with Egyptian pyramids as its theme. The sets were erected in Ramoji Rao Film City and it was done to perfection. The sets are said to be immaculate and breathtaking.

Director P. Vasu said that when he was brainstorming the theme of this song, he hit upon the idea of pyramids as the backdrop. He then consulted Rajinikanth, who also found the idea interesting and gave it a nod.

Since this was decided at the nick of the moment, the sets were erected real fast. Now that is an astonishing fact! It is a very commendable job to have erected such a grand set in such a short period of time.

Vishal and Rajini to compete?

The Vishal-Nayanthara starrer Satyam is nearing completion and according to director Rajashekar only the climax scene needs to be shot. The director said that the climax, a fight sequence, will be shot at the Binny Mills in Chennai. This fight will be so intense, it will be a new experience for the audience, stated Rajashekar. Meanwhile, the post-production work of Satyam is also moving on at a fast pace. In all probability,

the film will be ready for a July release, reports internal sources. With reports flowing in that Rajini’s Kuselan will also be ready for a July release, much ahead of the intended August release, will the two movies clash? Are we in for a Vishal-Rajini contest?.

"Surya is doing Singam"

What we have been reading in the media over the last month is that Singam, a movie starring Vijay is to be directed by Prabhudeva. In a function yesterday, the inauguration of the film Seval, director Hari (who made Vel) announced that there had been a mix-up. Singam, he said, was a future project of his and it would star Surya.

His current project, Seval, is a title that many stars wanted to take as title for their own films, including Vijay who requested Hari if he could use the title. However, Hari felt the project had already been announced with Bharath and that he had called it Seval keeping Bharath in mind. Surya’s future project will be Singam
