Nayantara collapses on sets


Nayantara, who was supposed to be the star attraction at the IPL match yesterday, fainted while shooting in Hyderabad for Rajnikanth starrer ‘Kuselan’. She was hospitalized and was not able to perform at the event. She is one of the brand ambassadors of the Chennai team along with Vijay.

The actress who had a fever collapsed due to exhaustion and was taken to Kamineni hospital in Hyderabad. The doctors reported that the actress suffers from heat wave conditions that hit Andhra recently and has low Blood Pressure.

“A complete rest for two to three days is the best medicine for her problems now,” said the consultant.

Nayantara, who was shooting for ‘Kuselan’ at Ramoji Film city had to pack off early on Monday evening, as she was showing signs of a viral attack and feeling weak. But even after that, the thorough professional actress attended the Tuesday schedule with Rajini which went for round the clock and it is said that this added stress has resulted in the actress getting drained out.

At present Nayantara who is reigning in the numero uno position in the South, is doing three big films simultaneously, 'Kuselan' with Rajini, 'Aegan' with Ajith and 'Sathyam' opposite Vishal. And she has been signed for four more big films including 'Singam' with Vijay.

Rajini in a flying horse



Rajini has commenced his next project Kuselan some time back with much fanfare which is typical of any of his film. Media is constantly giving his fans some kind of news about the progress of the film. After completing a schedule at Hyderabad, the crew of Kuselan is once again back in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad where the shooting is progressing at a rapid phase. In Kuselan, as everyone knows, super star acts as a superstar and a sequence in which he was riding a flying horse was shot by director P Vasu. As is the general norm with any of super star’s film, the introduction scene plays a crucial part which will be characterized by grandeur and splendor. Following the set path, the intro scene of Kuselan also was shot with Rajini gyrating with numerous Mumbai models that were specially flown in for this purpose. Then he was shot with riding a horse which was later converted to a flying horse by computer animation. For this sequence alone around 150 lorry load of sand was brought in and filled at the location. Rajini was seen dancing for the lyrics of Vaali tuned in by the young G V Prakash.

The next schedule of the film will be at Udumalpet in a school where Rajini will be guarded by private security force.

Jackie comes to town

Jackie Chan, the Hollywood Martial arts hero is to arrive in Chennai tonight for the music launch of Kamal Hasan’s Magnum Opus Dasavathaaram. Jackie is the star guest at the function which will host celebrities from the world of Bollywood and South India. The audio release, which is one of the biggest and most glitzy events to take place in a long time will be held at Nehru stadium, Chennai on Friday, 25th April. Jackie will be staying at the most expensive suite at the Taj Coromandel .

Producer Oscar Ravichandran is a close friend of Jackie and distributed all his English films in India, making Jackie Chan a popular name. In the late 80’s and 90’s, it was Mr. Ravichandran’s aggressive marketing that helped Chan movies to become the biggest hits. So it is payback time now and grateful Jackie is doing it in the right manner.

Dasavatharam-Images


Actor Kamal Haasan called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi along with Nepolean at the latter's residence to invite him formally for the launch of ‘Dasavatharam's ‘audio launch.

The audio of the much-hyped ‘Dasavadharam’ would be launched at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Friday in which Jackie Chan, Amitabh Bachchan, Mammootty, Rama Narayanan, Hemamalini, Asin, Mallika Sherawat and Himesh Reshmaiyya would be taking part.

A huge invitation in the form of an audio record has been printed. Directed by K S Ravikumar, the movie features Kamal Haasan in ten different roles.

Music is by Himesh Reshmaiyya while the cast includes Asin, Mallika Sherawat, Jayapradha, Nepolean, Nagesh among others.









Vijays goes outdoor Shooting


In the Tamil television channels, Vijay TV is known for their ‘out of the box’ approach in their programs. In fact they can be credited as the pioneers in reality dance shows. One such show which has been gaining popularity among television watchers is Jodi no. 1 dance programs which are being judged by famous personalities from the tinsel world.

As yet another means to conquer popularity and increase the TRP ratings, the show has moved on to outdoor locales where the theme of Festivals and Celebrations was shot with grand sets near Nandambakkam area recently. Actress Sangeetha, dance master Sundaram and director-actor S J Suryah moderated the event attired in bucolic costumes to complement the mood of the show. The participants of the show are Kiran/Priya, Dinesh/Harita, Sivakarthikeyan/Aishwarya and Unni/Sugasini who danced to the peppy numbers of 'Kumbida pona theivam', 'Thirunelvelli alva da', 'Maduraikku Pogadedi' and 'Ketta kodukkura bhoomi'. This show will be telecast on 26th April.
