Meera Chopra, known as Nila in the Tamil cinema industry, is an Indian actress.
She did her bachelor's degree from Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan, U.S.. After studying mass communications in New York, Meera worked with a leading national television channel but soon gave it up because she felt she was given a raw deal.
Meera Chopra is originally from the modeling world. Her first film was Anbe Aaruyire (Ah Ahh) produced and directed by S.J. Suryah, in which he played the lead role. It is Suryah who was responsible for bringing her into films and who changed her name to Nila in Tamil.
