Prakash Raj banned!

Prakash Raj seems to be embroiled in one controversy after the other these days. The latest has to do with the Telugu Film Producers' Council, who have banned Prakash Raj from acting in Telugu films henceforth. Trouble started brewing up a few months ago with the producers complaining that the actor does not turn up for shooting as scheduled date, resulting in huge losses. As the actor was involved in various Telugu ventures, the council felt that he should be given some time to complete them. With all his Telugu film commitments coming to an end, and with no signs of the actor doing any differently, the council has resorted to this drastic measure. Sources say that Jalsa, Kantri and Parugu were some of the films affected by this. It is believed that Prakash Raj may not be signed up hereafter for any Telugu film.

Shriya - bored of love scenes!

It might sound bizarre, but take our word for it. Shriya claims that she is bored to death playing the lovely lady romancing the male lead. As if to fulfill her wishes, she recently finished filming for the Deepa Mehta directed ‘What is Cooking’ where she plays the female lead sans a love interest.

“Debutant Rakhi plays opposite me, however there are no romantic scenes or songs between us,” Shriya was quoted as saying to a tabloid. Shriya further added that she has been complaining her friends about the boredom of having to play love scenes and duets in movies.

Her Hollywood venture ‘The other side of life’ produced by Ashok Amirthraj where she plays a call center agent who falls in love with the client is also wrapped up recently. Shriya is cast alongside the Hollywood sitcom heartthrob Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives fame in this movie. Apart from that, the movie also has Anupham Kher and Tara Sharma in support roles.

Ragasiya as undercover investigator

Although Malavika is in no dearth of film offers, she is not ready to take up any of them owing to her status as an expectant mother. She pulled out of the Srikanth starrer Indira Vizha recently sending the nice little earner to Ragasiya’s kitty.

Ragaisya will now play the undercover investigative journalist role earlier meant for Malavika. The famous ‘Oru Kinnathai Endugiren’ song from ‘Vasantha Maligai’ has been remixed for the movie and the song was shot recently. Srikanth plays the Creative Head of a TV channel in Indiravizha and is cast opposite Namitha. Directed by Rajeshwar, the movie also stars debutant Hemamalini.

Silambarasan-Poda Podee

After the lukewarm response of Kaalai, Silambarasan has started working in his next project Silambattam with Sneha. After this he will be seen in a film to be produced by Gemini Film Circuit titled Poda Podee which will be directed by his friend Vikki who apprenticed with Prabhu Solomon. Heroine for this film has not been finalized and the unit is scouting for the same. While inside sources aver that the title may attract some kind of negative publicity some others feel that it may be lapped by youth.

Meanwhile Silambarasan’s another project Kettavan appears to have been put in back burner for now. Its status will be known soon.
