Director G.Bupathi Pandiyan has complained against N.Kasturiraja for having sold his story without his knowledge.Beyond professional relationship, Dhanush and Bhupati Pandiyan are good friends. The film 'Thiruvilayadal arambam' was the result of that friendship. That film was a hit.For transferring the rights of a film in another language, 40% of the proceeds should be given to the producer and director.
But there has been no agreement for 'Thiruvilayadal arambam'. Therefore the producer of the film Kasturiraja has sold the re-make rights in Talugu and pocketed Rs.60 lakhs. Like wise, Rs.10 lakhs for Kannada.On learning this Bhupatiraja got a shock. After all, it was his hard work. So, he has approached the Producers' Council to collect his share of the proceeds.
Thus begins yet another song and dance!
