Aamir en route to Beijing and Jackie to Chennai

India and China might not have been the best of friends over the decades but what better than films and sports to build bonds. The Olympics is only a few months away and the torch has begun its longest journey yet around the globe, passing across five continents before reaching Beijing, the venue for the games. The torch will be in India for one day in New Delhi and six celebrities from different fields will carry the Olympic flame during its time at the capital. From the film industry the chosen one is Aamir Khan. are not very sure about who will be the others in the rally but Aamir’s participation has been confirmed. It is hard to say whether there was anyone else more deserving of the honor but then only one person can hold the flame and Aamir cannot be called a bad choice at all to represent the vibrant and growing Indian film industry, having done all of us proud with Taare Zameen Par recently.

On the reverse front, a famed Chinese actor is on his way to India. You all know this but then one doesn’t get tired of hearing good things. Jackie Chan is all set to arrive in India for the Dasavatharam music launch and the excitement can be felt in a few circles already. Though no date has been fixed for the event, which will supposedly be adjusted to Jackie Chan’s availability, rumors are that the event might be held before the Indian Premiere League kicks off on April 18, which is pretty soon. Other news doing the rounds is that organizing an event that boasts off an international star’s presence is going to cost Oscar Ravichandran a fortune in terms of security arrangements and generally a setting that is fitting for the presence of a global star.
