'Billa' has answered those who predicted the end of Ajith.Before 'Billa', 'Varalaru' was Ajith's hit. 'Azhvar' and 'Kiridam' that followed did not do well in the box office. In fact, 'Azhwar' was a downright failure.
'Billa' project was started when those doubters were about to see the end of Ajith. As it was a re-make film and that too a Rajini film re-make, the talk was both mocking as to what would Ajith do and of high expectations.But Ajith's 'Billa' defeated the mocking and fulfilled the expectations. Unlike others who finance films to make them run in theatres, Billa has crossed 100 days.
'Billa' also has found a pride of place with collections next only to 'Sivaji'. Having had a collection of Rs. 5 crore in Chennai alone, 'Billa' has made a record and found a place among Top 10 movies.
