It is said that God and children are alike. In that direction actor Raghava Lawrence is seeking help to conduct heart surgery for 36 children. The trust run by Raghava Lawrence is rendering healthcare and educational aid to physically challenged orphaned children. For that purpose he has even vacated his own house built with a lot of affection and love to house the orphans while he lives in a rented house.
"I was suffering from brain tumour when I was a child and saved from death. I know the sufferings of the orphans," claims Lawrence. Now he has taken upon himself to conduct surgery for 36 poor children who have a heart problem.
Introducing the children to the media, Lawrence said, "We know how we suffer even if our children catch a cold and so we can understand how the parents of these children would suffer," and appealed for generous help. That made even the cameras that shot him shed tears.
When a boy from Madurai who had already undergone a heart surgery said,
"Thank you," it appeared as if God himself said so.
Moved by Lawrence's appeal director Perarasu handed over a cheque for Rs.50000 with an assurance of handing over his salary for the songs written by him for the film 'Pondi.' The Cinema Press Club agreed to donate Rs.10,000.
This is an appeal to the worldwide readers of Cinesouth.
Even one Rupee donated by you would go to save the lives of these children. If you want to donate, please get in touch with:
