Prince Henry

Biography
Prince Henry of Wales (given name-Henry Charles Albert David) was born on September 15, 1984, at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, in London, England. More commonly known as Prince Harry, he's the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, first in the line of succession to the British Throne, and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. His brother, Prince William of Wales, is second in line to the throne, and both are the grandsons of Queen Elizabeth II.

Hailing from the royal family, the young Princes attended the most exclusive schools in the UK, starting with Mrs. Jane Mynors's nursery school in West London. Like his brother, Harry attended the Wetherby School before graduating to Ludgrove School in Berkshire and in September 1998, he entered Eton College, the traditional school of the royals.
diana's tragic death
On the last day of August 1997, a few weeks following a summer holiday with their mother in the South of France, Prince Charles awoke Harry and William, staying at the Balmoral Castle, to deliver the news of their mother’s tragic death in a car crash. At the funeral service at Westminster Abbey, the royals restricted the media from taking close-up pictures of the young Princes, then aged 13 and 15.

When he was 17, Harry was sent by Prince Charles to a drug rehab center in south London after he told his father about his experimentation with marijuana and alcohol. Charles hoped that his son would see the potentially devastating effects that drugs could have on a young person's life from his one day visit to the clinic. The Queen stated that she was pleased with the manner in which Prince Charles handled the situation. The parties during which Harry had indulged in the substances had taken place at Charles' Highgrove country estate in western England in the summer of 2001.

In June 2003, Harry left Eton with two A-levels, a B in Art and a D in Geography. Upon graduation, Harry set off on travels to Australia and Africa. While stationed in the land down under, he worked on a cattle ranch and caught some of the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Before taking off to Argentina for some R&R, Harry delved into some work at a Lesotho orphanage in Africa.

While working at an Argentinean polo ranch, British tabloids reported in November 2004 that Harry was the target of a foiled kidnapping plot. Buckingham Palace referred to the claim as "irresponsible." It was also here that Harry and Zimbabwe-born heiress, Chelsy Davy, were first photographed together. Reportedly, the two have been a couple since 2003, and despite speculation regarding the status of their relationship, Davy was escorted by armed guard to Harry’s passing out ball, Prince William has been quoted as saying that the two are in love, and she expressed her disappointment in Harry’s 2006 visit to the Spearmint Rhino strip club.

Some claim that “Dirty Harry” and Chelsy are engaged, but that is only speculation, and the manner in which he reportedly cavorts around with sports presenter Natalie Pinkham, leads us to believe that there must be an open relationship in existence between the two.
prince harry hoped to serve in iraq
The prince joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as Officer Cadet Wales in May 2005. The following year, he joined the ranks of the Royal Navy, as other members of his family have done in the past, and was appointed as Commodore-in-Chief, Small Ships and Diving. In April 2006, he passed out as a newly commissioned officer at the Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst. That same year saw Harry become Troop Commander Wales and attain the rank of Lieutenant. He also began his training as a tank reconnaissance commander in May, when he joined the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry.

The Ministry of Defense and Clarence House confirmed in February 2007 that Harry would accompany his regiment on a six-month tour of Iraq, but that decision was overturned on May 16, 2007. The initial resolve to deploy a member of the British Royal family to an active combat zone was considered a controversial one, as some relatives of those serving amongst the Blues and Royals feared the regiment could be targeted specifically due to Harry's status. The regiment left to serve as part of the 1st Mechanized Brigade of the 3rd Mechanized Division in the spring, without Troop Commander Wales.
